Idma-Kapel came into being after Marinda Teubes, who was a teacher at a school for many years and each time had to prepare the food for functions and then clean up afterwards. I had a dream to one day open a venue on the farm Kapel where people could come and sit down and experience a whole time and meal.
There was no Venue on Vredendal.
In 2000 Spruitdrift cellar does not pay us for the harvest and so the thought becomes urgent.
I attended many cooking classes and brought everything back to Vredendal. I also went to work for a few days with Peter Veldsman in his Restaurant and got training there.
So we started building the Venue and in August 2004 we had our first function.
We have been doing everything for 20 years now. I still do food courses and keep up with all the new trends.
Today, after 20 years, our children are also involved and happy to help.
The name comes from my husband Idi and I Marinda (Idma) and we are located on the farm Kapel between Klawer and Vredendal.
We also have 4 guest rooms and our guests enjoy the freedom of the farm very much.
Many weddings/conferences and Functions are held at Idma. My daughters-in-law also started having children’s parties here.
We are fully equipped with a sound system/aircons/projector and screen.
Idma also has a liquor license and there is a fully equipped bar.
